Drug intelligence / Profile preview
[18F]OXD-2314 is a first-in-class, pan-tau positron emission tomography (PET) radiopharmaceutical designed for the in vivo imaging of tau aggregates across Alzheimer's disease and non-Alzheimer's disease (non-AD) tauopathies. Developed through a ligand-based design approach using a fluoropyridinyl-indole scaffold, [18F]OXD-2314 exhibits high affinity and selectivity for 3R, 4R, and mixed 3R/4R tau fibrils. It demonstrates minimal off-target binding to other neurodegenerative disease targets such as amyloid-beta, alpha-synuclein, or monoamine oxidases (MAO-A and MAO-B). The tracer is currently being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials to detect tau pathology in living patients with suspected chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).
